Janne Bergh has a unique relationship with animals. Training them has always come naturally and easy to her. Beneath her youthful freckles and good sense of humour, however, lies an ironclad dressage professional.

“When training horses, it’s important to be able to read the horse as it is in the body it has. We can only train the horse in a way that is beneficial to the horse once we understand that. You can’t train a horse by following instructions in a book; each and every horse needs to be approached as an individual.”

Janne Bergh’s career has seen her become a four-time gold medal winner in the seniors’ category at the Finnish dressage championships, and she has also won two silver and three bronze medals. She is also a four-time indoor dressage champion in the seniors’ series, and has won four gold medals and three silver medals in teams at the Finnish championships. 

Bergh is a Federation-approved coach.

Ville Vaurio spends 13 hours a day together with horses out of love for the sport. “If I had ten million euros, I’d spend it all on horses.”

Originally from Nurmijärvi, Ville Vaurio wants to explain that an ordinary father can rise up the ranks to become a Finnish champion in a sport that is often thought of as a hobby for the elite.

Balancing his competitive career and entrepreneurship with family life is a challenge. To make up for his strict schedule, he forges friendships with horses through working together.

Vaurio competed in the European Dressage Championships in early September 2023. In 2023, he also won gold at the Finnish Championships and the Nordic Baltic Dressage Championships. By trade, Vaurio is a coach and an equestrian.
